This compost bucket is made from Astrik, a composite of PLA (Polylactic Acid) and plant fiber. PLA is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugarcane—a sustainable substitute for oil-based plastics. When properly disposed of in industrial composting facilities, it breaks down into water, carbon dioxide, and organic matter. Even in regular waste streams, it decomposes much faster than traditional plastics. The vented lid design allows airflow while the plant-based hemp filter traps odors and prevents fruit flies. You can keep this bucket on your counter year-round without worrying about smells or pests. When it's time to empty it, the bamboo handle makes transport easy whether you're heading to your backyard pile or local drop-off location.

How to Use

Keep the bucket on your counter, under your sink, or wherever is most convenient while cooking
Toss in fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, eggshells, and other compostable materials as you prep meals
The vented lid and hemp filter work together to prevent odors and keep gnats away

Emptying:

When full (or weekly, whichever comes first), grab the bamboo handle and carry to your compost pile or drop-off location
Dump contents into your composter
Rinse with water or place on top rack of dishwasher for easy cleanup

Filter Maintenance:
Replace the hemp filter every 3-4 months. Signs it's time for a new filter: you start noticing odors, fruit flies appear, or the filter looks saturated. Replacement filters sold separately in 6-packs.
Tips:

Line with compostable bags for even easier cleanup (optional)
Empty weekly even if not full to prevent excess moisture buildup
Store extra filters in a dry place
Don't put meat, dairy, or oils in your compost bucket

Are your products safe for sensitive skin, kids, and pets?

Absolutely. Our formulas are non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and made with biodegradable ingredients. No sulfates, no synthetic fragrance, no harsh preservatives. Safe for babies, pets, and anyone with sensitive skin.

Why do you offer so many types of packaging?

Because one size doesn’t fit all. We offer reusable glass and plastic bottles, refill pouches, paperboard cartons, and refill boxes so you can reduce waste in a way that works for your space and routine. All of our packaging is recyclable, refillable, or part of a closed-loop system—so nothing has to go to the landfill.

Our Refill Boxes are the most sustainable. Each one holds the equivalent of 10 or more bottles and uses 86% less plastic. You can send the liners back to us to be sanitized and reused—creating a truly zero-waste system. If you’re just getting started, our refill pouches are also great low-waste, recyclable option.

You don't need special bottles to use our products. Use any bottle you have at home or one of ours.

What if I don’t like the scent or product I ordered?

We get it—buying something new online can be tricky. That’s why we offer a 30-day return policy. If you don’t love it, just return it to us for a refund.

To maintain free shipping option, we can't cover the cost of return shipping unless there is a problem with the product.

Why do your products cost more than my grocery store brand?

We use high-quality, plant-based ingredients, 100% pure essential oils instead of synthetic fragrance, and sustainable packaging that costs more to produce—but does far less harm.
